UNNAMED 6

It was Patty’s first visit to her sister’s home after her sister was diagnosed with cancer. As Patty walked into the house, she felt a deep sadness pulling at every limb. She described the feeling as “a group of hornets flying around the house.”

Weaver recalls looking out of the window and wanting to submerge her head in the pool, silencing everything above water. Her paint strokes create the illusion of rippling water as the figure swims away from sadness. The raised cement texture is unique to Weaver’s signature style.
